I worked there in the 80s
If you want to enter a demolition derby get a 3.5 magna.. they are pretty strongly built
Je vous adore Bizh Breizh Bretagne
So 90's Australia
Mitsubishi paint is notorious for fading badly.
look around ..all cars now fade if not garaged..its the clear coat..we all want shiny cars
To be fully accurate Australia never fully made cars..much of it was imported componets
That was true of Ford and Holden. Mitsubishi Australia actually designed the Magna- the Japanese parent company had misgivings about building such a large FWD platform, but they are now the norm. It makes the "Japcrap" garbage spewed by Folden fanboys hilarious as all their beloved "Aussie" cars are rebadged imports. Mitsubishi also used to assemble engines for these cars in Australia (and export drivetrains to other assemply lines worldwide).
misubishi had a foundry and made their magna engines too..
Got my license in one of those. I'll always have a soft spot for them. As much as people may like to poke fun at Magnas, even as a Holden man I think we should be just as proud of them as any Holden or Ford. Now we have no car industry and most of the new cars sold here are garbage. A shame.
10:35 flogging away as she talks next to it. love it.
Under estimated car the Magna it was a great car built here
That's pretty interesting, what was it computing? Like financial stuff?
Gotta love all the Bogans working in that place, bahahaha it's like watching something garn puts up. Yeh mate working at mitsushitty really is great mate. Hahahaha
Yep. Paid well, piss it up the wall every friday night, then put their hands out for government money when they run the company bankrupt...
Never were that good of a vehicle. Nothing that was made in Australia was. Japanese built vehicles were and are far superior to anything we ever did or could build.
Cool story. That's why they exported Magnas to.....*cough* Japan *cough* and sold them as a premium model.
@@TyphoonVstrompeople just love to rag on things they have no idea about
you have obviously never driven in a 380
I miss club Clayton
I have a 1995 Mitsubishi Verada and it's still going strong. Very proud to own this car that was built full Australian.
Then greed kicked in to make more money, and then left Australia for cheaper labour.
Imagine that. Wanting to make more money. Bet you’ve handed back every wage rise you’ve got and said ‘don’t worry, my salary is fine’
@@xr6lad Explain to us how unskilled assemply line labour is worth $130k a year. We are all ears.....
@@xr6ladBill Clinton had just made his "We must engage with China" speech. We did not comprehend the destruction of our manufacturing jobs that was about to happen. USSR had just collapsed 5 years prior, the western globalist no longer needed to have strong manufacturing, to present an image of a successful system. (1994, built my first home and land $83k). It's taken a lot of corporate lobbying career politicians to get to this train wreck of a society. eg....Can you describe a woman ?
GO GARY GO !
Our leaders totally ruined this country
BEAUTIFUL 💞
I must have missed the bit when they added the rust and oil leaks and lose timing chains will have to watch it again
That's just the Australian package mate, anything we touched in the auto sector turned to shit, that's why everyone pulled out. Hopeless workers, processes and greedy unions that's the truth.
They don't even have timing chains, they have timing belts mate
@@Steve211Ucdhihifvshi Grub, get out of Australia.
@@emilyking329 In fact, the majority sales were Astron 2.6 powered and sure did have timing chains from its birth at Chryslers Lonsdale plant in 1979 until the last ones made in 1998. Mitsubishi Australia at least persisted and made chain driven cam and balance shaft engines for almost 20 long years...
@@emilyking329 thats right...the guy is a moron..probably a holden push rod fanatic
Not anymore, Mitsubishi closed 2008, the rest waited until the 2nd half of the following decade before closing down and leaving Australia to imports only.
Sure wasn't much self declaration going on when I was on the left hand body line . . . Or the right for that matter 😂🤣
this must be from when I first discovered them ... saw them at Amoeba Records in Hollywood and then the next night at a small club and this was their stage setup

I videoed the whole Amoeba show ...
Plus one for the XF Taxi at @46
I BELIEVE THIS IS A A321 211 IT LOOKS BIG
Its a -232, Jetstar doesnt have CFM engines..

What do u mean Franco lays on the “migrant act”? He was born in Italy, it is not an act. And he had always spoken with an Italian accent, he’s not faking anything.
GOOD FOR BROOKE 💜 !!! One of the best AS episodes Ive seen. Well done... and love from USA. 👍🏽
7:04 Amazing that the spray painters aren't even wearing respirators.
Thats why they closed down because they built crap, Just look at the prehistoric production line.
No these were made very well by Mitsubishi it’s a pity they stopped it we got a 1993 executive sedan and she runs like new! And she’s only done 190k
Unions, Ford Oz, GMH, Mitsu Oz & Tpyota Oz not reading what customers wanted is what killed them all off.
@@maxrockatanksyOG Exactly. Could’ve made a killing manufacturing RAV4 Hybrids, Hiluxes and Ford Rangers in todays market.
It looks prehistoric because the video was made 30 years ago. These cars are now eligible for historic rego!
@maxrockatanksyOG yep all holden and ford needed to do was fit their v8s to the twin cab utes that the market wanted and toyota already sells a v8 hilux chastised car in USA so they would of done same and Nissan has a v8 also they could fit to navaras and actually made them reliable for once..lol... and Mitsubishi acting like they are on meth as usual would of done a ralliart twin turbo v6
I enjoyed watching this, the 380 best car ever to close a factory.
High quality and very impressive.
I like Mitsubishi
I believe Airbus has addressed the whistling FOPP sound in the more recent builds of the A32X series. But this video really captures the sound in quite vivid detail!
I love the mullet hair
I thought they shut down the Australian Mitsubishi plant.
they did in 2008. this was from the early 90s
There are no words to express my gratitude to this wise soul. After a few years of so many deaths including my dear dear mom’s, you have been able to put so many of my thoughts and feelings into words. Thank you. Huge huge hug🐾😽
This was so. ...beautiful....and genuine....to watch. Thank you to this young lady for sharing❤
Sigmas and Magnas wernt much good the auto gearboxes were breaking down under warranty the sigmas with their rattling timing chain woes re early Mitsubishi galants and la lb lancers were good cars! the saturn engine was very reliable and manufactured well they had no problems re mitsubishi cordias their engines wore out quick cylinder bore woes,Ford and Holden had their problems too cracked manifolds, broken rocker studs on the falcons weak floor pans on vb commodores I worked on them all really Australian motorist not getting good value for money spent on new cars back then maybe thats why new cars wernt selling compared to overseas vehicles.
Most of this is very true but our Magna is auto and has no issues
Interesting. I've owned 3 Magnas- all had their original, unopened auto gearboxes. Funny, timing chains do rattle at 200+k kms....when they are due for replacement.
Woow mitsubishi got its assembly plant in australia , opel calais oso assembl here , during old day vauhall , holden brand oso assemble too, australia is a car assembly in east asia country other than japan , korea , indonesia and malaysia since 1983, good info for the youngsters !
Fantastic. I was there during this period . Thanks for the upload
QUE MUSICA, MUITO LINDA
Some of those are still kicking, like mine (26 years in circulation, 28 years since assembly)
I get a pretty strong "I really don't give a toss" vibe from this presenter
And all the workers, you can see why all our aussies cars were shit, no one takes pride, no one cares, just do this job shit, get paid, fuck off home and do it again. The complete opposite of say Japan were all their workers say at Hinojosa or Toyota are so proud to work there and take pride in their jobs and output.

Absolutely amazing woman. She comes from a long line of amazing women, what a fantastic family tree. A thousand congratulations on your success' Brooke, looking forward to more from your incredible brain and soul.
34:00 The guy who now lives at Orielton...no longer under the flight path...basically tells us we are a bunch of whingers and he is happy now...funny..he is the son of the deaf guy.
